The 3DMark for macOS app - or 3DMark for Mac - is similar in functionality to the Windows version, but has its own user interface. While the side navigation allows to move quickly between sections, the home screen shows recommended benchmarks and the available benchmark categories.

The 3DMark for macOS application is split into 3 main sections on the left navigation pane.

  • Home
  • GPU benchmarks
  • My device

Home

In the home screen, all available benchmarks are categorized based on the technology they use.

  • Recommended benchmarks - These are several benchmarks we recommend for you to start with based on your current hardware specifications.
  • Non-raytraced benchmarks - These benchmarks measure gaming performance using traditional rasterized rendering.
  • Raytraced benchmarks - Raytracing is a demanding lighting technique that offers far more realistic lighting of a scene, and is present as an option in many popular new games.

Currently 3DMark for macOS is only offered on Steam, as a demo and as the paid consumer version (formerly: 3DMark Advanced). Other stores like Epic Games Stores will follow. The same goes for the Standalone versions. This includes the Professional version of 3DMark for macOS which is still in development. We are working on releasing it after the Steam version with no public launch dates, yet.
